Student Policies
General enrollment – You may start taking lessons at any time of the year at Bradford School of Music. Most new students schedule one introductory lesson. Payment must be made at the time that the lesson is scheduled. We cannot hold a time for you until payment is received. There is no refund once this first lesson has been paid for and scheduled. If you decide to continue taking lessons on a regular basis we have schedules and payment plans to fit just about everyone’s needs. Our best value is the semester plan:
Semester Plan - Our fall and spring semesters will be 18 weeks each. You will be billed for only 16 lessons. Students on the semester plan are given first choice on lesson times. Most of our available hours between 4-8pm on the weekdays and 10am-1pm on Saturdays are given to semester students. The semester plan guarantees that another student will not take your time slot. We encourage you to pay for the semester in full but if you wish to discuss other payment options please contact us. The semester plan guarantees that you will receive a minimum of sixteen lessons during the eighteen-week semester up to a maximum of eighteen lessons. Teacher absences will result in either a make-up lesson or a credit to your account. Please read our student cancellation policies below as these policies do apply to the semester plan.
Ten lesson package – Some of our adult students buy ten lessons and schedule them from week to week. If you are on this plan please be aware of our cancellation policy – all booked appointments must be paid for regardless of attendance.
Four lesson package – This is our starter package for new students.
Depending on the time of enrollment both of these packages can be applied as payment toward the semester plan.
Cancellation policies
Teacher absence - Students will never be billed for a teacher absence. The teacher can either schedule a make-up lesson or you will receive a credit for that lesson.
Student absence – We understand that on occasion students will have a conflict with their booked appointment. Students must also understand that our teachers have to be paid for the time that they are here each day. Therefore we cannot grant or guarantee make-up lessons for any student absences that have less than 24 hours advance notice.
Please contact your teacher directly by phone or email if you have a conflict with any upcoming lesson.
Do not call the Bradford School of Music office for lesson cancellations/scheduling because the teacher may not get your message in time to rearrange their schedule for the day. If you give your teacher as much advance notice as possible it improves the possibility of rescheduling the appointment. Lessons can only be rescheduled at the sole discretion and convenience of the teacher because the office policy is there are no make-ups for student absences.
All students must agree to pay for any and all booked appointments regardless of their attendance at the appointment.

Semester Plan Tuition (18 week session) - $480
Payment options
Semester plan – you can pay the entire tuition in advance or if you prefer you can split the payment in half with the second half due no later than the ninth week of the semester. If you sign up for this plan you agree to pay for the entire semester of lessons. The only early cancellation of this plan allowed is if the student is physically unable to continue playing their instrument due to an illness or injury.
Monthly payments can also be made or even weekly payments but we request that your account be kept with a credit balance of at least one month of lessons in advance at all times. Students who want to receive the benefits of the semester plan and also have the flexibility of paying monthly or weekly must agree to be responsible for the entire current semester tuition – early termination of lessons will result in a bill for the balance due for the rest of the semester that the student agrees to pay at the time that the lessons are terminated.
Family Discounts: Everyone is eligible for our family discounts. If you have two students enrolled each week you get a 5% discount on your total bill. Three students enrolled is a 10% discount.
